There was also a tendency for participants to place the blame for unacceptable deceptions on the robot developers or owners, highlighting the importance of accountability in the creation and deployment of robots.

They emphasized the need for regulation to protect users from harmful deceptions, citing examples of companies using AI chatbots to manipulate user behavior.
